Hello!

Claire Gillen here. After a lifetime in London, I now live in Nottinghamshire, on the Derbyshire border.

I’ve been writing since childhood and have kept a journal, almost daily, for my whole life (please, let’s not count the decades)!  

I decided about twenty years ago, there must be a story within those journals somewhere.

Finally, I decided to write a book, using my journals as source material. I’ve spent more years than I want to reveal, trying to mine my journals, write that story and finish that first book.

I created this website, to share my progress and hold myself accountable.

Finally, in 2022, I completed the first book.

The book that, still, is not yet published.

I tweaked it and added to it. I hired an editor. I tweaked some more.

Then, I put it to one side. Which actually felt like a blessed relief.

Maybe I will publish it this year, or maybe I won’t. Maybe I’ll publish a completely different book. Or no book at all.

It feels good to have completed my book, and to no longer be thinking about publishing it. Perhaps, writing it was enough?

I’m still creating stories. Except, rather than weaving stories with words within a book, I am weaving stories through the images of my self-created oracle cards.

Whilst, thoroughly enjoying exercising my imagination, intuition, and creativity in this way!

I still call myself a writer. Because I still write! Daily in my journal, and regularly on this website.

I’m tentatively dipping my toe into sharing on social media again, after a long rest from it . But this website will be the place where I share most.

I have many creative interests I’d love to share and teach. What and how much to share, that might be of interest to others? Now that is the question. No doubt, time will tell.

For now, I offer the oracle card readings. Later, I’ll share how you can make your own cards and be your own oracle. Do let me know if that would be of interest, using the form below, I’d love to hear from you.
